The difference between GVT and PGVT tiles is in their use. While both are made from a combination of sand, clay, and stone, they serve different purposes: Glazed Vitrified Tile (GVT) is glazed on its exterior and protects against water penetration while retaining an unglazed base that provides traction to prevent slipping.
Protected by a glaze finish and with an unglazed foot, these tiles can also be used as flooring.
